The original Cook's Tavern played a pivotal role during the war of 1812. It was destroyed in 1813 during the Battle of Crysler's Farm. Cook rebuilt the tavern between 1822-24, after receiving compensation from the British. This photo shows the building in its original setting at Cook's Point, just west of Aultsville.Photo: Ontario - St. Lawrence Development Commission -

This home in fact belonged to Michael Cook, an Aultsville farmer and son of Michael Cook Senior. Michael Cook Jr. played a major role in Canada's agricultural history as the first person to import Holstein cattle into Canada. He lived in this home until his death in 1912.Photo: © Jeri Danyleyko, 2004 -
