The Wales town plan originated from Belden's Historical Atlas dated 1879.

The railway station, shared with Dickinson's Landing, is on the south side of the village, with the station located south of the tracks. A storehouse is located just south east of the station.

Note the spelling of Hooples Creek as "Hoopoles". Whether this was a simply a misspelling or one of the many variations of Hooples is impossible to say.
