Alderson...3 |

Today,
Alderson is only a memory, although a visit to the old site is a surreal experience.
There are dozens of old foundations remaining in a bone-dry field. If you look
closely from a distance, street and avenue grids are still visible. |

Although
Alderson's once vibrant downtown business core has vanished, the remaining historic
foundations have maintained their nobility on the barren prairie landscape.

From a nearby
gravel road, it is nearly impossible to recognize the former townsite as prairie
vegetation has overtaken the remaining foundations. However, once inside, an
entire field is dotted with foundations. A closer look even reveals faint street
grids. |

A
dramatic prairie sky hovers over the sun burnt land, which has slowly taken
over the sunken concrete ruins of Alderson. |
